Céline Sneakers + Babaton Dress + Mackage Moto Jacket

Céline sneakers look

Happy New Year, dear reader! I want to share an #OOTD of my friend Christina. Christina has a great sense of style. It’s equal parts laid-back and chic. I also love how she combines an edgy, menswear-inspired vibe with a feminine touch. This look – Céline sneakers, maxi dress, and leather moto jacket – is a perfect example. Here’s what Christina has to say about the pieces…

The Jacket

Mackage Florica Jacket, exclusively at Aritzia

It took me a long time to find the perfect motorcycle leather jacket. I wanted a jacket that fit more boxy than snug and that was a little oversized so that I could wear a sweater or some layering pieces underneath. The Mackage Florica Jacket ticked all those boxes and more.

It is a super-soft, lambskin leather that feels buttery smooth but still manages to retain its boxy shape. I really love that it has invisible snaps on the belt to keep it from sliding around so that you don’t have to worry if it’s hanging off the side of the jacket. It’s a classic motorcycle leather jacket, plain and simple.

The Dress

Babaton Jeremy Dress from Aritzia

I purchased this dress in the summer but have been wearing it through the fall and winter. It’s a basic black maxi dress, but I love the flowy material that gives the dress lots of movement.  The dress is cut low in the front and in the back for a very feminine look. It also has side slits to make it easier to walk in – and show a little leg while you are at it! 🙂

This is such an easy piece; I have it in two colors. It’s perfect with a leather jacket (as shown) for a little edge or with a blazer for a softer look.

The Shoes

Céline Pull-On Sneaker

This is another shoe that I was not interested in initially…until I tried it on.  The color is a part of Celine’s winter collection, but there are brighter colors coming out for spring which I already have my eye on.  These have been my go-to sneakers ever since I purchased them a few months ago. I wear them with denim, leggings, and dresses.

Most people think that they won’t be able to pull off such a chunky/bulky shoe if they have big feet, but I really insist you try them on first before writing them off.  As described by a friend who also owns a pair, “it feels like you are walking on a marshmallow” and who doesn’t want that?

You might remember a post last month about another outfit by Christina. Every time I see her, she’s wearing a smart, sophisticated blend of high-end and more reasonably-priced pieces. Here she goes again! I hope you noticed in the last photo, by the way, her Cartier LOVE bracelets with an Apple watch. Are you as inspired as I am?

XO, Janea
