Seattle Ferry Style

Seattle from the ferry

Last Sunday, the sun came out in Seattle! And so my husband Mark and I instantly decided to take a ferry ride out to Bainbridge Island for lunch. I thought it would be fun to put together the perfect outfit for the windy boat ride across the Puget Sound and island stroll.

With only a few minutes to get ready, I could only do my best: a striped long-sleeved tee, boyfriend jeans, windbreaker, and ankle boots. Like other Seattleites aboard the ferry, I was more sporty than chic.

Up on deck I caught a glimpse – along with the Olympic and Cascade mountains – of the perfect outfit. It was understated (in keeping with Pacific Style style) but with a romantic flair: olive green (also very Pacific Northwest!) blazer…

…and scarf worn Grace-Kelly-style, accented with a springy peach-colored blouse – along with black skinnies and ankle boots. A perfect Seattle ferry ensemble.

  1. Gotta love Seattle. Fashion in the NYC, Paris and Milan sense is not the center of focus, but there is a distinct sense of style driven by the natural beauty here and the people who never take it for granted! Hence, comfort shoes made for getting around, seeing the sites, walking up and down hills. There is also a surprising array of good looking athletic/outdoor attire worn by Seattle-ites and Pacific Northwesterners who always seem ready for a myriad of outdoor adventures.

I think your Bainbridge/ferry attire sounded springy and perfect!
